Method B. The reaction was carried out as described in method A by using 50 mg (O. OO0 15 mol) of 12 in 3 mL of methylene chloride and 0.05 mL (O. OO0 67 mol) of sulfuryl chloride in 2 mL of methylene chloride. The identity of the crude product was established as 14 by TLC and mass spectral analyses.
