The action of certain organometallic reagents upon benzanthrone (7 H-benz [de] anthracene- 7-one) has been further investigated. Some of the components were identified, and the nature of hitherto unknown compounds was deduced. Phenylmagnesium chloride in tetrahydrofuran gave nearly double the yield of crystallizable products.
