Abstract The substituent chemical shifts of a series of para substituted-3-phenyl-as-triazine 4- oxides were studied using the Swain-Lupton F and R values. This data was compared to that obtained for parasubstituted biphenyls, phenyl pyrroles and phenyl furans. It was found that the substituent chemical shifts in the triazines behaved in a similar manner to that in the biphenyl system.
