Regiospecific monofluorination of various sulfides bearing electron-withdrawing substituents, cyano, ester, acyl, amino, and phosphonate groups, at their a-positions was successfully carried out by the anodic oxidation of the sulfides in Et3N. 3HF/MeCN using an undivided cell.
