Optically active ligands 2 and 3 were synthesised from phenylglycine and the coordination of ligand 2 to PdCl 2 (CH 3 CN) 2 and PtCl 2 (C 6 H 5 CN) 2 was studied with 1 H, 31 P and 15 N– 1 H-HMQC NMR spectroscopy.
