Preliminary, unsuccessful attempts to obtain di-and tetrahydro-5-phenyl-7-chloro-l14- benaoxaeepines through reactions of derivatives of 2-hydroxy-5-chlorobeneophenone oxime (2a-d) and of 2-(carboxymeth-oxy)-5-chlorobenzophenone and benehydrol (5-8) are described.
