Abstract Salicylaldimine Schiff bases containing oxa-crown ether (HL ¹, HL ², HL ³, HL 4 and H 2 L 5) were synthesized via condensation of (15-crown-5) salicylaldehyde with amino- compound and characterized by 1 H NMR, IR, MS spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The crystal structures of HL ² were determined from X-ray diffraction data.
