Abstract The reaction of fluorosilanes with lithium salts of bulky amines like tetramethyl- piperidine and di-tert. butylamine leads to stable aminofluorosilanes of the type R-SiF 2- NR′ R ″[R= F, C (CH 3) 3, C 6 H 5, C 6 H 4 N (CH 3) 2]. Lithium salts of silylamines react analogously: R 2 Si (NR′-SiF 2 R ″) 2 (R= R′== CH 3, R ″= C 6 H 5).
