Vinylnaphtha1enes.-We have found in our previous experiments that only a- vinylnaphthalene is able to undergo a diene reaction, whereas 1-(a-naphthyl)-cyclopentene- 1 and 1-(6'-methoxynaphthyl-2')-cyclopentene-l were unreactive.
