Results A variety of alkylation products were observed, the exact product composition depending on all the parameters studied. The reaction mixtures were analyzed by vapor phase chromatography (vpc) and the individual components were identified by isolation, by vpc retention time, and/or by conversion to and identification of a derivative. Scheme I summarizes the products observed.
