A. General Procedure for the Formylation of Grignard Reagents with N-Formylmorpholine. To a stirred solution of freshly prepared Grignard reagent (10 mmol) in dry diethyl ether (20 mL), cooled to 0" C, is slowly added during 2 min a solution of N-formylmorpholine (Aldrich)(10 mmol) in diethyl ether (10 mL).
