摘要

Methyl disulfide reacts with chlorine at-10 to-20'to form crystalline methylsulfur trichloride, CH&& in nearly quantitative yield. The new compound is unstable and decomposes on standing at room temperature into chloromethanesulfenyl chloride, CICHzSCl, as a principal product.
