摘要

(2E, 4E)-and (2Z, 4E)-3, 7, 11-trimethyl-2, 4-dodecadienoates of high stereochemical purity. The method involves the condensation of dialkyl3-methylglutaconates with the aldehydes 2 to give the diacids 4. Decarboxylation (via 7) affords the pure ZZ, 4E isomers 9 which are equilibrated with the 2E, 4E isomers 10. The latter are then separated uia their insoluble ammonium salts.
