Abstract Alkenyl-substituted dihydroaromatic boronic esters, generated by neutral cobalt (I)- catalysed Diels–Alder reactions, reacted under palladium catalysis conditions with diiodobenzene, bromoiodobenzene and iodoaniline derivatives for the synthesis of regioselectively substituted phenanthrene and phenanthridine derivatives.(© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
