Vinylic Substitution of 10-(Halomet hy lene)-anthrones. The (halomethy1ene) anthrones 3 and 4 reacted with nucleophiles, yielding the corresponding a-substituted 10- methyleneanthrones 5 and 6 or their subsequent products, as shown in Table I and Scheme 11.
