Abstract: Photolyses of azomethane in aqueous tert-butyl alcohol media show a maximum yield of cage products in the range of solvent compositions near 0.9 mol fraction of water (XH~ O 0.9). In the range of 0.9 to 0.6 XH~~ the fraction of cage recombination of methyl radicals from the photolyses of azomethane decreases with increasing macroscopic viscosity.
