Abstract Regio-and stereoselective synthesis of γ-alkylidenebutenolides and γ- alkylidenephthalides has been achieved through the palladium-catalysed tandem cross- coupling/cyclisation reactions of tributylstannyl-3-iodopropenoate or the 2-iodo benzoate derivatives with tributyltinacetylene.
