Abstract The carboxylation of glycerol to glycerol carbonate (GC) in the presence of rhodium complexes with N-containing macroligands (polyethyleneimine and chitosan) has been studied. It has been found that the {RhCl 3+ chitosan} system is an effective catalyst.
