Résumé/Abstract The kinetics of oxidation of methionine by chromium (VI) in presence of an anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) has been studied under pseudo-first order conditions in perchloric acid medium. It was found that increase in [SDS] causes a decrease in rate indicating that the reaction is inhibited by anionic micelles.
