12-11-ammonolysis of ethyl 1-(2, 3, 5-tri-O-acetyl-P-~-ribo-furanosyl)-5-methylimidazole-4- carboxylate (10) or by deacetylation of 1-(2, 3, 5-tri-0-acety1-PD-ribofuranosyl)-5- methylimidazole-4-carboxamide (1 1)(Scheme I).
