Abstract: High-resolution nitrogen-15 NMR spectra of adenine have been obtained both at the S-adenosylmethionine level and for a uniformly enriched sample prepared from S- adenosylmethionine isolated from yeast grown with I5NH4CI as the principal nitrogen source. Specific” N labeling at N1, N3, N6', N7, and N9 provided unequivocal assignments of the chemical shifts as well as elucidation of the position of the tautomeric equilibrium. ...
