New π-donors containing a pyrene or a tetrahydropyrene ring were synthesized by means of a unique transannular reaction of the corresponding [2.2] metacylcophane derivatives. The CT complexes of these donors with a series of TCNQ derivatives different in electron affinity were prepared, and their electrical conductivities on single crystals were measured.
