Results Synthesis of V4S4 and Ti4S4 Cubanes. The compound (MeCp), V4S4 (1) was prepared in 45% yield by treating (MeCp) 2V2S417 with PBu3. The analogous reaction with Cp2V2S4 afforded Cp4V4S4, which is noticeably less soluble than the methylcyclopentadienyl species.
