A series of 1, 6-dihydropyrimidine-2-amine derivatives and 1, 6-dihydropyrimidine-2-thiol derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of substituted 1, 3-diphenylprop-2-en-1-one (chalcones) with guanidine hydrochloride and thiourea, respectively.
