Abstract: A number of extremely stable chlorocarbon free radicals derived from diphenylmethyl and triphenylmethyl are here described and examined. They are obtained either by dechlorination of alkaromatic chlorocarbons or oxidation of the corresponding perchlorocarbanions. Perchlorodiphenylmethyl (PDM), perchloro-4-phenyldiphenylmethyl (PPDM), perchlor0-4, 4'-diphenyldiphenylmethyl (PDDM), perchlorotriphenylmethyl (PTM), ...
