Abstract A novel yellowish-green triplet emitter, bis (5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-p-tolylpyridine)( acetylacetonate) iridium (III)(1), was conveniently synthesized and used in the fabrication of both monochromatic and white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs).
