In the last decade new pyrroloisoquinoline and indolizino [8, 7-b] indole alkaloids, having cytotoxic and other biologic activity, were isolated from Carduus crispus and Kopsia griffithii, respectively, by Chinese [1] and Malaysian [2] groups.
