Although various silanols and siloxanes have On neutralization of the reaction mixtures with been cleaved by bases to form hydrocarbons along ammonium chloride, these silanes gave diphenyl-with silicon derivatives, 2 allyltrimethylsilane has methane (90%) and triphenylmethane (91%), apparently been the only tetrasubstituted hydro-respectively.
