When the condensation of (II) with chloroaceticacid is carried out in glacial acetic acid in the presence of sodium acetate and an oxo-compound, the reaction products are the 2- adamantylimino-3-phenyl-5-ylidene-4-thiazolidones (VIIIa-m). Condensation of (VII) with isstin affords 3-adamantyl-5-isatinylidenerhodanine (IX). The properties of (IV),(VII),(VIIIa-m), and (IX) are given in Table i.
