Results When benzenesulfenyl chloride is added to cyclohexene in acetonitrile in the presence of silver fluoride at room temperature, l-fluoro-2-(phenylthio) cyclohexane is formed in 70% yield. None of the corresponding chloro derivative is observed in the NMR of the crude reaction product. The phenylthio and the fluorine are trans to one another as determined by NMR.
