Having failed to resolve 2-amino-9-diazofluorene2 into its optical isomers, we turned our attention to the resolution of other 2, g-fluorene derivatives. A thorough examination of the literature revealed a single case only in which such a resolution had been attempted. Bader3 attempted to resolve 2, 9-diaminofluorene by the use of d-tartaric acid and also by the aldehyde condensation product with d-helecin. Neither of these agents, however, ...
