3-, 5-, and 6-isocyanatoalkanecarboxylic acid chlorides and m-and p-isocyanatobenzoyl chlorides were prepared by treatment of the corresponding amino acids or their hydrochlorides with phosgene and hydrogen chloride in dioxane. In the same reaction, 4- aminobutanoic acid and o-aminobenzoic acid gave 1-chloroformyl-5-chloro-2, 3- dihydropyrrole and isatoic anhydride, respectively. o-Isocyanatobenzoyl chloride was ...
