Method B. To 0.078 g (0.7 mmol) of 4 placed in a dry, three-necked flask under nitrogen and cooled to 0" C was added 2 mL (2 mmol) of a 4" C solution of 1 M BH,-THF through a septum cap. The mixture was stirred for 15 min at 0" C and allowed to warm up to room temperature. A colorless gel was formed.
