Discussion It has already been reported3 that 3, 3'-dithiodipropionic acid (XI), even upon extensive decomposition in aqueous alkali, yields no hydrogen sulfide whatsoever: the disappearance of each mole of XI is accompanied by the appearance of 2 moles of thiol.
