Three l, 3-bis (hydroxyalkyl) tetramethyldisiloxanes of the formula [(CH1) zSi (CH~). 0H] 20 were prepared in which n= 1, 2, or 3. When subjected to dehydration, each reacted differently. When n= 1, dehydration in the presence of sulfuric acid caused the formation of ethers having the formula,[-(CH~) pSiCHz0CH2 (CH&SiO-]... z. The cyclic compound in which x= 1 was isolated.
