A series of amphiphilic monochain derivatives of stearic acid, CH3 (CH2) 16CONH (CH2) n NH2 (n= 2, 3, 4, 6), CH3 (CH2) 16CONH (CH2) 2S2 (CH2) 2NH2, and [CH3 (CH2) 16CONH] 2 (CH2) 2, are synthesized, and their self-assembly behaviors have been investigated in 1, 2-dichloroethane (DCE).
