The reactions of pyridine-tetrakis (N-dihydropyridy1)-aluminate complexes and of pyridine- alkyllithium complexes with alkyl halides are sources of 3-alkyl-land 2, 5-dialkyl (phenyl) pyridine~,~-~ respectively.
