The synthesis and antiinflammatory activities of (a-cyclopropyl-p-toly1) acetic acid (1) and related compounds are presented. The nature of the products formed during cyanide displacement reactions on a-bromo-p-tolyl cyclopropyl ketone (6) and p-(1-bromoethy1) phenyl cyclopropyl ketone (10) under a variety of conditions is described.
