Abstract A reliable and operationally simple one-pot reaction for a one-carbon homologation of various aldehydes followed by a Cu-catalyzed azide-alkyne 1, 3-dipolar cycloaddition (CuAAC) is reported. 1, 4-Disubstituted 1, 2, 3-triazoles are obtained in good to excellent yields from a variety of readily available aldehydes without the need for isolation of the alkyne intermediates.
