These &keto esters have been prepared by carbethoxylation of the appropriate methyl ketones according to the procedure of Wallingford, Homeyer and J0nes. l y-Phhenoxypropyl Methyl Ketone.-Methylmagnesium bromide was prepared from 7.3 g. of magnesium and 29 g. of methyl bromide in 200 cc. of ether.
