Abstract:(2-(Acetoxymethyl)-3-allyl) trimethylsilane, available from methallyl alcohol, serves as an equivalent of trimethylenemethane in cycloadditions to electron-deficient olefins. a, P- Unsaturated ketones, esters, nitriles, sulfones, and lactones serve as acceptors with this silane in the presence of a palladium (0) catalyst.
