The title compounds have been synthesized by irradiation of acetonitrile solutions of perfluoroacid esters and diesters containing tetrabutylammonium iodide. They are versatile synthetic intermediates from which ketenes, Reformatsky adducts, α, β-unsaturated esters and α-hydroesters can be prepared.
