We have previously reported [3] the synthesis of new heterocyclic compounds: 1, 2-oxathio! an-5-one 2-oxides and 2, 1-benzoxathiol-3-one 1-oxide. In the present work, we have studied reactions involving splitting of these compounds by certain nucleophilic reagents.
