Treatment of [(CH,), N], BBr with TiBr, affords {[(CH3), N], BBr),{TiBr4},. The stoichiometry of the latter was established by determination of the reactant ratio and by nucleophilic degradation affording TiBr,. N (CH,), and [(CH,), N], BBr. A structure is proposed for {[(CH,), N], BBr),{TiBr4}, base&on infrared assignments and the unusual stoichiometry of this compound.
