Abstract The combination of a bulky aliphatic phosphine, eg tricyclohexylphosphine or the tetrafluoroborate salt of tri-tert-butylphosphine, with the Pd (0) complex of a 15-membered triolefinic macrocycle is an excellent catalyst for the Suzuki cross-coupling of aryl and heteroaryl bromides and chlorides. The palladium can be recovered in the form of the initial complex.
