Organic peracid oxidation of α-cyclopropylidene ketones and acetals substituted in the vinylic position leads to the corresponding oxaspiropentyl ketones and acetals. Esters are also formed from the products of the Baeyer-Villiger oxidation; they are easily removed from the crude product.
