Abstract: The electron-impact (EI) and field-ionization (FI) mass spectra of 3-oxo-2-butyl phosphate (phosphoacetoin, PAH2) and its mono-and dimethyl esters, MPAH and DMPA, all reveal additional components stemming from thermal reactions that occur both during sample storage and in the instrument.
