An improved synthesis of pyrrolo [1, 2-c] pyrimidines, including the parent system, was accomplished via sequential condensation of substituted pyrrole-2-carboxaldehydes with tosylmethyl isocyanide (TOSMIC), followed by desulfonylation of the formed tosylpyrrolo [1, 2- c] pyrimidines.
