Conformational analyses of a series of neopentyl-and trimethylsilylmethyl-substituted germyl radicals by electron spin resonance (ESR) were investigated on the basis of the modified cos 2 θ rule. Dimethylneopentylgermyl radical has the conformations with the neopentyl group rotating freely.
