S-(1-Oxido-2-pyridinyl)-1, 1, 3, 3-tetramethylthiouronium hexafluorophosphate (HOTT) facilitates the first examples of efficient radical cyclisation with (hetero) aromatic substitution via Barton ester intermediates.
